Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credits

The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has approved the Foundation for Free Enterprise Education as an Educational Improvement Organization (EIO) under the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. This means that companies making gifts to any of our educational programs, Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW), the Speaker Series and The Stock Market Game (SMG), are eligible to receive tax credits on their Pennsylvania state tax liability.

Any company that pays Pennsylvania taxes that qualify for the credits, once approved, can get up to a 90% credit for their gift against their Pennsylvania taxes if the same gift is made for two consecutive years, or up to 75% if made for one year.

For example, if you are currently a $500 a year donor, you can now make a gift of $5,000 to PFEW, Speaker Series or SMG and receive a $4,500 credit per year off your PA tax liability if you agree to make that gift for two years. Your out-of-pocket costs remain the same ($500). The only difference is that you make a gift to an educational organization that helps students learn rather than pay the state. If you have $5,000 of Pennsylvania state tax exposure, you can make the gift to FFEE and receive credit as a Student Champion, one of our highest honors, and you would be educating students through PFEW, the Speaker Series or SMG! This represents a tremendous 'win-win' for you and for students in your area.
