I was a business and entrepreneurship student at Lycoming College when I crossed paths with PFEW. Little did I know, 5+ years later, I would find a family that is just as loving, caring and passionate about the work they do at PFEW.
After my time as an Resident Advisor, I found my new passion as a Company Advisor devoting a week of my summer every year since. As a Company Advisor, I am able to utilize my business skills to serve youth while strengthening my knowledge and relationships with my community. I think of all the students I have had the privilege of teaching over the past few years. I see them being productive and successful members of society today. There is no doubt, I gain the same, if not more, out of the week as my students.
I encourage anyone and everyone to volunteer in some capacity at PFEW. Each year, I leave the camp with an emotional, yet refreshed perspective on things. And, I cannot wait to return the following year.
